Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnosing, tearing down, and repairing problems or equipment on plant systems
• Work from drawings, plans or sketches, fabricating equipment, fixtures, devices, etc. as required
• Utilize test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls, hand and power tools, and material handling equipment
• Absorb and track progress of work orders, close work requests in a timely manner
• Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the facility
• Operate lifting devices as trained by Materion Safety Requirements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of mechanic experience within an industrial maintenance environment preferred
• Formal technical training is preferred but not required
• Experience in a metals industrial setting preferred but not required

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Basic understanding of brakes and clutches
• Basic understanding of working with plumbing, plastic, copper and/or black iron
• Basic understanding with welding/fabrication, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Basic understanding regarding machining skills to include lathe, milling, hand tools, and grinders
• Ability to perform basic carpentry
• Ability to perform stick, mig, and tig welding
• Ability to work with a team with an organized and methodical approach

Pay

Hourly pay range: $27.30 - $39.10 USD
