Maintenance Mechanic

We are committed to innovation, quality assurance, and environmental responsibility. We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to support our operations.
Responsibilities
- Support maintenance technicians in diagnosing and repairing equipment and building repairs not limited to roofing, wall repair, siding, window repair or replacement.
- Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment operates efficiently.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks and using tools, including but not limited to Food Safety Guidelines.
- Absorb and assist in conducting inspections of machinery (repack & processing equipment) and systems to identify issues or maintenance needs.
- Move, assemble, install, or dismantle machinery.
- Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Absorb and assist in organizing and maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Engage in training programs to learn about maintenance practices, safety procedures, and relevant technologies.
- Develop a mindset of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Encourage employee engagement and collaboration.
- Understand the core principles of Lean.
- Identify and eliminate waste in processes.
- Implement continuous improvement practices.
- Foster a culture of efficiency and accountability.
- Work alongside experienced maintenance staff to gain knowledge and skills while contributing to team efforts.
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, and yard lift.
- Calibrate, fabricate, and weld (ARC, TIG, MIG) of various stands and platforms, handrails, steps/stairs, conveyers, and drivers.
- General housekeeping ensuring area is thoroughly cleaned upon maintenance completion.
- Inspect and troubleshoot all equipment and determine proper course of action.
- Participate in lean events & practices.
- Learn how to operate bean room equipment & setup/teardown.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Willingness to listen & learn, basic mechanical aptitude.
- Able to prioritize and address issues in the most efficient manner.
- Responsible for guiding all machine operators in the repair and operation of their machine.
- Able to closely follow directions and use logical thinking to work through problems and tasks.
- An even temperament to deal with multiple issues and people at once.
- Willingness to work in various environments & conditions.
- Basic communication skills for reporting issues & following instructions.
- Must have basic knowledge and skills in mechanical and building maintenance.
- Knowledge of electricity and electrical aspects of the machines (touch screens, electric eyes, heaters, scales, etc.), to perform some repairs.
- Ability to work on their own, without constant supervision.
- Experience in welding.
- Knowledge in scale operation and repairs.
- Must have own tools.
- Must be able to read prints and manuals.
- This job may include any maintenance job in the facility.
- Must be willing to work hours required to complete tasks.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, nights and weekends.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have good attendance.
- Demonstrate safety and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Work in a team environment.
