Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform duties to install, maintain, and repair equipment at the Peekskill Manufacturing Site. Tasks include complex process equipment installation, maintenance troubleshooting and repairs utilizing advanced skills in pipefitting, structural steel, pneumatic, hydraulic, rigging and other millwright work on rotating and fixed equipment such as process machinery, tanks/pumps/agitators, furnaces, boilers and general building & grounds maintenance. Perform basic welding and fabrication; assist other mechanics in mechanical assignments as required. Operate forklift truck and other mobile equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues using advanced skills in pipefitting, structural steel, pneumatic, hydraulic, rigging and other millwright work on rotating and fixed equipment.
• Install and repair process machinery, tanks/pumps/agitators, furnaces, boilers and other equipment.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks.
• Assist other mechanics in mechanical assignments as required.
• Operate forklift truck and other mobile equipment as required.

Requirements

• High School or Trade School Diploma, or GED.
• Experience working in a chemical, refining, or manufacturing facility.
• Possess good computer skills.
• Good communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Further education in the mechanical field.
• Experience in the safe and proper use of maintenance hand tools and power tools, diagnostic instruments.
• Knowledge of and skill in the basic use of shop equipment such as metal lathe and milling machine in fabrication and repair work.

Pay

$32.29 - $40.58 per hour
