Maintenance Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant machinery, building systems, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including PLCs and drives.
  • Review and follow mechanical diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all maintenance work orders are completed as directed or a solution is identified and implemented.
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory of parts and materials for maintenance activities.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and data entry for maintenance logs and work orders.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist in training and mentoring other maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall plant operations.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, or documented equivalent training.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Strong understanding of mechanical diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical manuals. Experience with PLCs and drive systems. Ability to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 10 lbs. continuously for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and climb stairs for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures.

Work Environment

  • This position requires work in a non-climate-controlled environment with potential exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
  • The role may involve working in close proximity to machinery and equipment.
