Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

NALCO Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Mechanic to join the Logistics Maintenance team in Garyville, LA. You’ll be responsible for providing maintenance on our fleet crew delivery equipment. As a mechanic, you will safely perform maintenance on all delivery vehicles and perform field repairs as needed. In addition, you will maintain all maintenance records, and assist in any emergency situations as the mechanical knowledge on the team.

Responsibilities

• Servicing all types of delivery trucks or vehicles
• Inspecting all vehicles once a month
• Performing scheduled maintenance on all delivery vehicles
• Performing field repairs as needed
• Maintaining Ecolab policy inspection maintenance records
• Keeping current on safety techniques and taking advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skills
• Recognizing and avoiding safety hazards in the work environment
• Aiding in any emergency situation that may need mechanical knowledge

Requirements

• 2 years diesel mechanic experience
• Minimum high school graduate or GED
• An acceptable motor vehicle record (3 years)
• All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English
• Basic computer knowledge
• Immigration sponsorship is not offered for this role
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate or GED
• 2 years diesel mechanic experience
• Working knowledge of Davey Tool and JPro
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical, hydraulic, and chassis systems
• Knowledge of use of diagnostic software (ADOC, INSITE)
• Experience working on hydraulic pumps and PTO
• Awareness of chemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill
• Own hand tools

Pay

Annual Or Hourly Compensation Range: $29 - $31/HR
