Job Overview
KDC/One Chatsworth is hiring 4 Maintenance Mechanics to support our high-speed packaging and filling operations for 2nd and 3rd shifts. We are looking for strong mechanics who can set up, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production lines in a fast-paced, cGMP-regulated environment.
Specific Responsibilities & Duties
- Safety, Compliance & Documentation
- Promote a safe work environment and follow all HSE, OSHA, LOTO, cGMP, and SOP requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas.
- Complete accurate documentation including changeover logs, cleaning/wash-out logs, maintenance/PM records, downtime reports, and other department forms.
- Report equipment issues, hazards, and abnormalities promptly to Maintenance or Production Management.
- Line Setup, Changeovers & Operations Support
- Set up equipment for scheduled production runs.
- Perform efficient wash-outs, cleaning, sanitization, and line changeovers.
- Review and update setup sheets and follow production work orders.
- Partner with Line Leaders and operators to ensure smooth line performance and minimize downtime.
- Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on packaging and filling equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
- Execute equipment repairs, adjustments, rebuilds, and system optimizations.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and P&IDs to support troubleshooting and repair planning.
- Assist with parts ordering and maintaining critical spares inventory.
Qualifications
- 3–12+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in cosmetics, personal care, food/beverage, pharma, or other regulated manufacturing.
- Prior experience maintaining packaging, filling, bottling, or similar high-speed manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and support production equipment.
- Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and basic technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Solid time-management, organization, and documentation skills.
Preferred (for higher-level consideration)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with the equipment families listed above (fillers, cappers, tube fillers, labelers, coders, conveyors).
- Skills in machining, welding, fabricating, or equipment rebuilds.
- Technical coursework or certifications in mechanical, electrical, or machine-tool technology.
- Familiarity with CMMS/PM systems and strong computer literacy.
