Full-time, onsite position in Pearl, MS.
About the role
The Maintenance Technician ensures the food production line runs smoothly, maintains refrigeration and A/C equipment, and performs repairs in the hot meal commissary.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run the production line in Frozen Meals.
- Assist in maintaining cooking and packaging equipment in Frozen Meals.
- Maintain refrigeration and A/C equipment as needed.
- Remain in the Frozen Meal plant unless responding to an emergency.
- Attend all safety training classes.
- Assist in the Frozen Meal plant after production line completion.
- Perform non-maintenance-related tasks if requested by the Frozen Meals Director.
- Set up the production line at 6:30 a.m. and remain in the production area until weights are accurate and the meal runs smoothly.
- Assist in adjusting weights on the production line and make necessary adjustments if short-staffed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment weekly with documentation.
- Sanitize air conditioning units.
- Remove ice buildup on blast and large freezer floors weekly.
Requirements
- College education or training in Refrigeration, Electrical, and General Maintenance, or comparable experience.
- Two years’ experience in Refrigeration, Electrical, and General Maintenance.
- Certification in Refrigeration and A/C.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to work in freezer and cold environments for long periods.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ammonia refrigeration.
- Computer knowledge and skills.
Pay
$18.00 per hour.
