Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs process plant and field mechanical equipment in a timely manner.
- Affords assistance in ensuring required Preventive Maintenance (PM) and repair work is completed.
- Overhauls pumps, motors, gear reducers, fans, and other mechanical equipment.
- Conducts tests on process equipment and implements equipment improvements.
- Develops layouts, installs and repairs PVC and copper piping systems.
- Operates and maintains shop equipment, forklifts, tractors and Company vehicles.
- Maintains accurate records, logs and reports of equipment maintenance.
- Performs inspections on process systems to ensure that equipment is in proper condition.
- Performs repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Supports project and repair work in other areas as required.
- Responds to emergency after-hours calls.
- Conducts Quality Control functions as needed and trained.
- Complies with GMP and safety guidelines in all work duties. Helps maintain a safe working environment.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Trade school or formal technical training in mechanical trade is preferable.
- At least 3 years of experience in repair and maintenance of process or industrial equipment.
- Reads and comprehends technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.
- Additional skills in one or more of the following trades: industrial mechanic, building maintenance, welding, carpentry, refrigeration mechanics, process control, electrician, painter or related trades.
- Proficiency with PC-based computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good problem-solving skills.
- Able to perform work in areas with difficult access, and with heavy lifting required.
- Able to operate Forklift, Sky Trak, Back hoe, tractors.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to be certified for forklift and heavy equipment operation.
