Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Gibbon, NE plant.
About the role
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform predictive, preventive, and repair maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform predictive maintenance, including vibration analysis to predict equipment failure.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, such as lubrication and inspections at specified intervals.
- Execute repair maintenance after equipment failure.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and lock-out-tag-out procedures.
- Maintain logs and required paperwork.
- Maintain, disassemble, reassemble, repair, test, and inspect production equipment.
- Perform other related duties as needed to meet organizational requirements.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including warm, hot, humid, cold, wet, or slippery surfaces, and at heights around moving equipment with proper PPE.
- Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including overtime, Monday through Saturday. Start times vary based on production needs.
- Must successfully complete required training: Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and Food Defense.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior maintenance experience in a USDA-inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
- Prior production experience.
- Work history in the last 12 months.
