Responsibilities
- Follow and comply with company work and safety rules.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools, examining form and function of parts, and identifying defects or irregularities.
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components.
- Determine changes in size of worn parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments, and compare to specifications.
- Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
- Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimal specifications.
- Check the performance of machinery.
- Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
- Perform PLC troubleshooting.
- Install and run conduits for 240V systems.
- Repair and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot all types of electrical panels, change belts, motors, and conveyors.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Degree or certificate in industrial maintenance is a plus.
- Must have your own set of tools necessary to perform the job functions.
- Fluent in English with the ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to perform trades math, read mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Strong reasoning ability to diagnose equipment problems and make repairs, modifications, and adjustments.
Schedule
Must be able to work 40+ hours per week, including call-ins after scheduled work hours and occasional Saturdays.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
Work Environment
- Noise level is generally moderate but may occasionally be more than moderate (hearing protection provided).
- Exposure to heat, fumes, and dirt may occur.
