Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Follow and comply with company work and safety rules.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools, examining form and function of parts, and identifying defects or irregularities.
• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components.
• Determine changes in size of worn parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments, and compare to specifications.
• Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
• Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimal specifications.
• Check the performance of machinery.
• Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
• Perform PLC troubleshooting.
• Install and run conduits for 240V systems.
• Repair and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot all types of electrical panels, change belts, motors, and conveyors.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• Degree or certificate in industrial maintenance is a plus.
• Must have your own set of tools necessary to perform the job functions.
• Fluent in English with the ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to perform trades math, read mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and tools.
• Strong reasoning ability to diagnose equipment problems and make repairs, modifications, and adjustments.

Schedule

Must be able to work 40+ hours per week, including call-ins after scheduled work hours and occasional Saturdays.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand and walk.
• Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.

Work Environment

• Noise level is generally moderate but may occasionally be more than moderate (hearing protection provided).
• Exposure to heat, fumes, and dirt may occur.
