About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic at High Concrete in Springboro, Ohio will perform a wide range of plant maintenance activities utilizing a variety of tools and skills. This role is responsible for equipment installation, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks using equipment manuals, drawings, and schematics. You will ensure conformance to safety and quality standards while meeting the responsibilities outlined below.

Responsibilities

  • Retain and renew all certifications required for Maintenance Mechanic A (and Plant Maintenance Mechanic B) as listed within the job description and related skills matrix.
  • Clean, inspect, make adjustments, and perform other plant maintenance tasks as required or scheduled.
  • Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and make necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of plant equipment operations to read and understand equipment literature (e.g., OEM manuals, diagrams, schematics, recalls, and tech bulletins).
  • Perform and assist with preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation of plant equipment, including but not limited to: air compressors, welding systems, cranes, mobile equipment, CNC equipment, plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, motors, pumps, controls, HVAC, mixers, and conveyors.
  • Complete and maintain inspection reports, equipment logs, preventative and corrective maintenance reports, document materials usage, and maintain time entries (including computerized and paper records).
  • Detect and report improper operation, defective materials, and unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain equipment, storage, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all company, local, state, and federal safety rules and regulations.
  • Commit to the continuous improvement process and serve as a role model.
  • Maintain an understanding and working knowledge of HCG evacuation plans and procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies pertaining to attendance and tardiness.
  • Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions or changes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Trade school completion required (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
  • Minimum 3 years of plant maintenance experience required (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret manuals, drawings, and schematics required.
  • Basic computer skills and experience required; SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

  • 10 Hour OSHA course required; 30 Hour OSHA course preferred.
  • Master Trade license preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
  • Universal refrigerant certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 1 year).
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.

Schedule

This is a 1st shift position starting at 6 AM with some flexibility, and occasional weekends. Work hours extend until the work is completed.
