Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Shift

SUMMARY

This is a 3rd shift position.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of industrial machinery.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent equipment downtime.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks, accurately and timely.
  • Respond to breakdown trouble calls and bring machines back to accurate running state. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing problems related to electrical and mechanical equipment or process failures.
  • Lead and assign daily tasks to maintenance team members with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Mentor and train junior mechanics; support skill development.
  • Cookordinate with operations to ensure efficient production and minimal downtime.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and assist with safety audits.
  • Cookordinate with vendors and contractors for services or installations.
  • Participate and collaborate with operations personnel to ensure efficient production and minimize downtime.
  • Dismantle, repair and reassemble gear boxes, conveyors, pumps, cylinders, valves, drives, etc.
  • Maintain company documentation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in machining and welding (preferred).
  • Proficient with CMMS platforms such as Fiix, eMaint, or MaintainX.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls as needed.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 10/30-Hour General Industry Training.
  • Lockout/Tagout Certification.
  • Forklift Operator Certification.
  • EPA 608 (if applicable).
  • PLC troubleshooting certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, taste, or smell.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 - 25 pounds, and occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance from co-workers and/or mechanic devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee will be handling items that may be very hot.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and occasionally Holidays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions.
  • The employee will be handling items that may be very hot.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and occasionally Holidays.
