Essential Functions

  • Work from written or verbal orders, schedules, or emergency situations.
  • Use a variety of charts, tables, prints, schedules, manufactures handbooks, etc.
  • Use a variety of portable hand tools, amp, volt, ohmmeter, and other testing equipment and miscellaneous hand and power tools.
  • Understand ladder logic, process control logic, and usage of a PC.
  • Diagnose troubleshoot and perform repairs on production and building machinery, equipment and systems.
  • Check and repair equipment, plumbing, piping, electronic problems.
  • Assist with tear down, repair and reassembly of major equipment.
  • Troubleshoot low voltage control circuits such as starters, fuses, breakers, and switches.
  • Set up and operate an arc and gas welder for simple hand welding in all positions for mechanical strength.
  • Adjust and regulate gas, current and voltage to obtain proper fusion.
  • Operate acetylene torch for heating and cutting.
  • Perform scheduled and prescribed lubrication of production equipment, machinery and parts.
  • Oil and grease moving parts such as shaft and motor bearings, sprockets, drive chains, gears, pulleys, rollers, etc.
  • Force grease into fittings and bearings, replace defective grease and oil fittings, dirty air filters, sprockets, chains, etc.
  • Complete standard form after each job.
  • Detect and report defective material, faulty equipment and unusual situations to Supervisor.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • As a member of the evacuation team, participate in all drills and respond to emergency situations as required.
  • Duties involve being subject to call during off-hours in accordance with the predetermined schedule.
  • Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment by using good workmanship with a minimum amount of equipment downtime.
  • The ability to lead and coordinate the maintenance department as the backup Group Lead in the event of the absence of the Maintenance Group Lead.
  • Lead Maintenance Technicians in continuous improvement efforts across all manufacturing processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A High School Diploma
  • Four years’ industrial maintenance environment experience
  • Self-starter with solid work ethics
  • Use of computer and Windows based programs.
  • Proper operation and preventative maintenance of all mechanical equipment in the facility including basic electricity. (i.e.: fuses, contacts, etc.).
  • Able to work with little or no supervision. Reports to Maintenance Group Leader. Able to teach basics to other production and maintenance teammates.

  • One year of technical education

Work Environment

  • Some travel may be required for training, etc.
  • Work on night shifts and weekends required.
  • Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment
