Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift
About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment throughout the New IBC Blow Molding and Reconditioning operations. This position plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime, maximizing production efficiency, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment according to established maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using technical manuals, electrical schematics, PLC software, and diagnostic testing instruments.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems while maintaining compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Two to five (2–5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, packaging, plastics, or distribution environment preferred.
- Experience working with extrusion blow molding equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A technical, vocational, or trade school certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems (120V–480V).
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred).
- Understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor controls, sensors, and automation systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and compressed air systems.
- Basic welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, Stick preferred).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Skills
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and pneumatic prints.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems (120V–480V).
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred).
- Understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor controls, sensors, and automation systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and compressed air systems.
- Basic welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, Stick preferred).
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, welders, cutting torches, grinders, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Pay
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Rotating shift schedule with some weekend and holiday coverage as needed to support production demands.
