About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic II operates with greater independence than a Mechanic I, performing intermediate-level maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, robotic, and automated equipment. This position requires solid technical knowledge and the ability to handle moderately complex equipment issues. Under general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of manufacturing systems, ensuring that production processes are running efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Intermediate Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Independently maintain and repair production equipment, such as motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and other machinery, applying solid mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and resolve moderate to complex equipment failures using advanced diagnostic techniques. Collaborate with senior mechanics or engineers for particularly difficult or unusual issues.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and follow schedules for routine preventative maintenance, ensuring equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to company safety protocols and OSHA regulations. Promote a safe and efficient working environment.
- Training & Mentoring: Assist in training and mentoring Maintenance Mechanic I staff, helping them develop their skills and troubleshooting abilities.
- Process Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, recommending enhancements to equipment, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document maintenance tasks, repairs, and modifications in compliance with company procedures.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in maintenance or technical roles, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, or automated systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Technical certifications in mechanical, electrical, or automated systems are a plus.
- Solid working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Working knowledge of computers and iPad programs such as CMMS.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

$27.12 - $29.95 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
