Maintenance Mechanic 2

About the role

KIK Consumer Products is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 2 to join our team. This position operates in a high-speed packaging and manufacturing environment, focusing on the setup, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up production equipment to run scheduled production
• Discuss difficulties in operating equipment with machine operators to isolate problems and troubleshoot
• Document any and all changes made to equipment and conveyors
• Perform necessary repairs on equipment to keep it in top running order
• Carry out required preventative maintenance on equipment
• Assist in determining required design modifications and make approved modifications to equipment
• Perform tasks in accordance with approved procedures and following all safety procedures and GMPs
• Provide coverage for mechanics on other shifts, as needed
• Multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
• Associates degree in electronic field and/or Electrical Diploma/Certificate with at least 3 years of experience OR 5+ years of proven experience in related field is highly desirable
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
• Flexible to work shift work (days, afternoons, nights)
• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures
• Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software’s an asset
• Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow directions as found in technical manuals
• Must be able to perform major mechanical overhauls of some packaging equipment
• Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and motor problems

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $35.00/HR.
