About the role
Williams-Sonoma’s Distribution Center in Litchfield Park, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee night-shift operations. Reporting to Marty Dollar, this role leads a team responsible for maintaining production equipment, facility systems, and safety standards to ensure 99.9% uptime in the furniture upholstery business.
Responsibilities
- Manage a maintenance team and provide leadership, direction, training, and guidance to associates
- Ensure equipment availability on all material handling and facility-related equipment through daily floor involvement and a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance (PM) program
- Plan, design, budget, and facilitate projects related to the furniture upholstery business and/or distribution
- Design, develop, and program control systems
- Maintain and monitor the budget to ensure compliance; reduce reliance on outside services and secure competitive pricing on goods and services
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment through prevention, safety education, problem correction, improved employee training, and communication
- Lead by example and support Williams-Sonoma’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values
- Meet and set new standards for productivity, accuracy, and efficiency; drive continuous improvement and customer service
- Provide written documentation on all maintenance activities, including system malfunctions, weekly timesheets, supply expenditures, inventory accuracy, project plans and results, and planned projects
- Ensure continued compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and employment laws and regulations
- Collaborate harmoniously and cooperatively with peers and subordinates
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of supervisory/management experience in an industrial maintenance or distribution environment
- Electrical and mechanical knowledge including hands-on experience
- Proven ability to design, develop, and program control systems
- Computer literacy including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Understanding of power distribution requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and diagrams
- Strong team leadership and effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a related field
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and controls experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights and in unusual positions
- Ability to safely operate all hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and handcarts
- Tolerance for exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and moving equipment while working in uncomfortable positions
- Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual tasks (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
- Comfort with small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces
- Occasional exposure to repetitive motion; moderate noise level
- Comfortable with walking/standing 100% of the day
