About the role
The Maintenance Manager position at Glacier West Self Storage is a Full-Time Storage Position located in Tualatin, OR, Woodland, WA, and Vancouver, WA. We are seeking a career-minded candidate with experience in maintenance and general labor.
Responsibilities
- Directly support assigned properties with the completion of work requests.
- Assist the operations manager to maintain property operational and curb appeal standards.
- Comply with safety, workmanship, and appropriate conduct of maintenance staff.
- Complete regular property inspections to assess damage and maintenance needs.
- Schedule work to be completed on the property.
- Ensure that all maintenance or offline units are in make-ready condition meeting company standards with minimal turnaround time.
- Evaluate the performance of outside contractors and vendors performing work on the property and report.
- Prior forklift certification, or ability to obtain certification, is required for valet parking boat storage.
Financial Duties
- Keep inventory of all parts and materials on the property and order new supplies.
- Review maintenance-related invoices to ensure accurate billing and track all maintenance-related expenses.
- Maintain a weekly log of miles for travel reimbursement.
Property Duties
- Keep in continuous contact with the landscaping contractor to ensure proper maintenance of irrigation systems and foliage.
- Evaluate ways to improve services and facilities from the perspective of quality, efficiency, and economy.
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Advanced hands-on knowledge of facility maintenance.
- Intermediate mechanical, plumbing, and electrical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic carpentry and sheetrock skills.
- Landscape skills.
- Forklift certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely, frequently, and independently move equipment, appliances, and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Operate manual and power tools.
- Ascend and descend ladders.
- Reposition self to access high, low, and hard-to-reach spaces.
- Work with and/or around paints, pool chemicals, and other potentially hazardous materials.
- Work in a noisy environment (power tools, etc.).
- Work with/around electrical hazards/repairs.
