Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages and administers the daily activities of all DPM system maintenance requirements, accomplishing scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Responsibility includes all guideway and fixed facilities, rolling stock and equipment, wayside and communication equipment, shop and miscellaneous test equipment, including the development and periodic review of all related maintenance procedures.
- Manages the daily operational activities of the Maintenance Department.
- Plans and coordinates all aspects of equipment maintenance to ensure dependable and safe operations of all DPM equipment and is responsible for troubleshooting, adjusting, calibrations, testing, fabrication, all emergency repairs and quality of repairs to ensure dependable and safe operations of all DPM equipment.
- Oversees damage control and maintenance integrity during emergency conditions.
- Maintains records on failure analysis to organize and improve the maintenance data system.
- Aids in preparing and administering the approved annual DPM Maintenance budget.
- Initiates training courses and establishes skill requirements and verification procedures to maintain a high degree of technical proficiency throughout the Maintenance staff.
- Suggests modifications to upgrade the DPM System.
- Administers timekeeping for the hourly employees within the department.
- Participates in the interview and selection process for department personnel.
- Plans, assigns, and directs daily work of hourly department personnel.
- Administers the performance evaluation, recognition and disciplinary process of hourly department personnel.
- Supervises hourly department personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Counsels and mentors hourly departmental personnel, encouraging professional development.
- Trains hourly departmental staff and new hires on departmental structure and processes.
- Actively solicits feedback from colleagues and supervisor on opportunities for growth and development.
- Incorporates safety into all aspects of job functions.
- Creates a safe and inclusive working environment for all team members.
- Collaborates and effectively works with all members of the team.

Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- 8 years of mechanical, electronic, or electrical experience
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- Combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum requirements
Preferred
- Experience with state of the art transportation systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Essential: Knowledge of civil design and construction techniques of all guideway and station structures
- Knowledge of the design of mechanical, electromechanical and electronic equipment
- Knowledge of the maintenance requirements for all system components including electronic, mechanical and electromechanical hardware
- Understanding and ability to work with the theories of electric systems, train control, communications system, power transmission, mechanical systems, heat transfer and electromechanical devices
- Ability to work with minimal direction
- Effectively manage a crisis situation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytic skills and ability to troubleshoot situations effectively
- Self-motivated and display strong leadership skills
- Ability to work with all levels of staff with tact and diplomacy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
