About the Role
Monitors and tracks usage and repair of tools and equipment, orders new equipment or repair work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Organize and document all required maintenance records for cranes, hoists, forklifts, tractors, and fleet vehicles.
- Negotiate with vendors for new tool orders and repairs for equipment in the plant.
- Monitor inventory of all tools and equipment to prevent theft and loss.
- Investigate abuse and excessive damage to tools and equipment to control costs to facility.
- Manage log of tools assigned to each employee to prevent loss.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years relevant experience in maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems.
- Previous managerial experience highly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple vendors.
- Can effectively and efficiently handle both administrative and mechanical responsibilities.
- Makes safety a priority at all times.
