About the role
Atlas Molded Products is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance for all equipment and facilities at the Perryville, MO facility.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all new and existing equipment, machinery, and facility systems are well maintained and operating properly.
- Manage the Maintenance department, including hourly and salary employees, to reduce turnover, follow company policies, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Ensure emergency repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with production to schedule non-emergency repairs, which may require off-production hours (2nd or 3rd shifts, weekends, and holidays).
- Oversee the Total Preventative Maintenance Program for the plant.
- Utilize eMaintenance software to maintain accurate records of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Engineering team and Plant Manager to facilitate production and installation of new equipment or capital projects.
- Work with the Corporate Director of Engineering and Maintenance on corporate or plant-specific projects as needed.
- Maintain documentation required by Quality and Safety programs.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues with maintenance staff to identify root causes.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA and Atlas Zero Harm safety guidelines for equipment, machinery, facility systems, and employee safety.
- Adhere to best safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Operate forklifts and scissor lifts within established safety guidelines.
- Use 5S methodology to maintain a clean, efficient, and organized work area.
- Supply hand tools required for the job as needed.
- Perform additional functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred but not required.
- At least 10 years of prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Knowledge and experience with general maintenance/mechanical systems and associated safety procedures.
- Advanced knowledge and experience within a specialty (e.g., boilers, fabrication, controllers).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to use simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools.
- Self-motivated with the ability to provide clear direction and work in groups.
- Strong problem-solving skills applicable to mechanical and utility systems.
- Multi-tasking, organization, and supervisory skills.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures.
- Valid driver record and insurance coverage for company-related vehicle use.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Moderate to heavy physical effort, including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, and reaching forward and above head level.
- Ability to tolerate temperature changes for the entire shift.
- Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must safely operate assigned machinery.
