Maintenance Manager - 600 7th St.

About the role

Oversee building maintenance functions, budget, and vendor contracts for Johnston Center Residences, an apartment community providing housing and services for special-needs or disabled families and individuals. Work in collaboration with property management to ensure safe, well-maintained homes. We encourage candidates with lived experience to apply. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Patch and paint walls, trim, and ceilings.
• Clean, repair, and maintain appliances.
• Prepare units for new residents, including completing necessary turnover work.
• Perform routine plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Manage day-to-day maintenance functions.
• Assist with maintenance budget oversight.
• Coordinate and manage vendor contracts in collaboration with the property management team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical expertise in one or more building trade.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications.

Skills

• Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing.
• Present information to groups of people.
• Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade.
• Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical diagrams and blueprints.
• Draft working sketches.
• Use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.
• Effectively oversee work progress of vendors or outside contractors.

Pay

$35.00 - $37.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
