Maintenance Lift Truck Mechanic

About the role

Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 10th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in “Automotive News.” This position involves diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing all company-owned Powered Industrial Equipment, including but not limited to hi-los, switcher trucks, and company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment within the facility.
• Troubleshoot fuel systems (propane, gasoline, and diesel), hydraulic systems, electronics, and mechanical units on industrial trucks.
• Use hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment, to diagnose and repair issues ranging from minor fixes (e.g., changing headlights) to complete overhauls.
• Follow and suggest improvements to preventative maintenance procedures.
• Track and maintain parts in storage, diagnose problems, and source necessary parts from equipment manuals.
• Submit parts lists to the Maintenance Manager for each repair.
• Check in/out rental equipment as needed.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, standing, or walking continuously in confined spaces.
• Perform additional miscellaneous duties as assigned, including working across various classifications.

Requirements

• Familiarity with hand and power tools (company provides large tools and equipment, but not hand tools up to 1 ½” in size).
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and other maintenance equipment.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with documentation.
• Must pass an entry-level mechanical testing.
• Good attendance record (2.0 or better).
• Ability to work mandatory overtime, including 6-7 days per week as required.
