Maintenance Leader

Role Overview (Scope Of Role)

The Maintenance Leader is responsible for developing, implementing and checking the Maintenance Cost Plan in close relation to the goals of the businesses supported by the Department. Furthermore he/she is responsible for the safe and timely execution of maintenance activities in all departments and buildings on site, by optimally deploying all available resources. He/she also bears the responsibility for the reliability of the assets serviced by the Maintenance Department. He/she provides the primary reliability engineering support for the plants and maintenance organization on site. This role knows the Maintenance Work Processes, Tools and Most Effective Technologies intimately.

Responsibilities

• People Leadership of the Maintenance Department

• Manage the maintenance department ensuring timely resolution of issues as they pertain to maintenance to all facilities within Michigan Operations

• Facilitates the Facilities management as it pertains to maintenance (vendor management, maintenance/repair)

• Reliability Engineering and Support for Plant Issues and Projects

• Management of contracts existing with appr. 50 - 60 suppliers, in cooperation with MRO Purchasing. (vendor management)

Qualifications

• Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, preferred Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing plant with a focus on maintenance and reliability
  • Experience leading a maintenance organization in a manufacturing plant is preferred

• Skills & Abilities:

  • Lead and develop people
  • Create a Manage Improvement Plan for a department
  • Develop and maintain a budget for a department
  • Managing contracts with suppliers
  • Articulate the Maintenance Work Process and the MI Plan to the department employees and ensure their adherence to these
  • Interpret outputs from the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling system
  • Interpret job packages
  • Cook up activities during emergency situations
  • Collect and interpret data
  • Ensure regular meetings occur
  • Apply local overtime policies
