About the role
New Millennium is responsible for repairing and maintaining various types of machinery and mechanical equipment, including furnaces, cranes, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Direct maintenance employees on day-to-day operations, including work schedules.
- Work with production in the event of unscheduled downtime.
- Aids the supervisor with monitoring employee training for accuracy.
- Inspects mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoots issues as needed.
- Welds using oxyacetylene torch, arc welder, and mig welder.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, and reassembles when complete.
- Examines forms and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Ensures that all emission control systems are working properly, and that all federal, state, and local documentation are being followed.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Utilizes aerial man lifts to work aloft.
- Operates and performs PM’s on mobile equipment.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Ensures proper safety guidelines are followed with respect to PPE and other safety policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or 1-2 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
- Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced problem-solving and mathematical skills.
- Knowledge in multiple facets of maintenance (IE, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, fabrication, etc.).
