Maintenance Lead ( Overnight shift)
Essential Job Functions
- Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots and seatbelts while operating forklifts)
- Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
- Follows department plans and performs complex corrective and preventative maintenance requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
- Affixes to ensure all upgrades for equipment are compliant with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Minimizes down time ensuring replacement/spare parts are available through proper preventative maintenance management by adhering to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Schedules maintenance personnel to cover production line maintenance needs.
- Contributes to measurable improvements in scheduled, unscheduled and break down maintenance related down time and the costs associated with these events to contribute to CPC (cost per case) goals for each plant and shares best practices across and within the enterprise.
- Reviews daily preventative maintenance (PM) sheets and assists in ensuring work is being completed.
- Reviews any changes made to production line and makes necessary changes to work orders.
- Coordinates and addresses equipment failure in a timely manner, in order to minimize the downtime.
- Supports Electricians and Mechanics with machine issues on the production floor.
- Aids in training of Electricians/Mechanics on production equipment and maintains Lockout/Tag out Program.
- Coordinates parts requirement with Parts Coordinator.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement Projects, and supports initiatives with technical expertise.
Required Skills
- Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards and codes.
- Understanding of maintenance practices.
- Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach.
- Initiates the escalation process when downtime exceeds plant targets and issue is unresolved.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement projects, and supports initiatives with technical expertise.
- Proficient in SAP.

Education and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Electrician or Millwright (Dual Ticket – Electrician/Millwright an asset).
- 3-5 years production/line machine maintenance experience required.
- Line maintenance within a food and beverage production environment preferred.
Working Conditions
- Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required.
- Overtime scheduled as needed.
- Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold).
- The environment is structured and supervised.
- Travel Requirements: Travel anticipated: Rarely

X Carry weight, lift X Walking X Driving X Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance X Visual/Sensory: This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time. Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise control of equipment. Mental Stress: There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
