Maintenance Lead
About the Role
Manage, coordinate, and direct operational activities and communication for the maintenance engineering department in an automotive steel wheel manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, predictive and productive maintenance, department budgets, scheduling and planning, and efficient manpower utilization. Oversee the implementation of effective quality systems, train and develop human resources, administer plant policies and procedures, and promote continual improvement to achieve plant and department goals. Monitor and maintain safety, health, and environmental programs.
Responsibilities
- Direct operational activities and communication for the maintenance engineering department.
- Oversee preventative, predictive, and productive maintenance programs.
- Manage department budgets, scheduling, and planning.
- Ensure efficient manpower utilization and implementation of quality systems.
- Train and develop human resources and administer plant policies and procedures.
- Promote continual improvement initiatives to meet plant and department goals.
- Monitor and maintain safety, health, and environmental programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Two years of experience in manufacturing and maintenance engineering for the automotive industry.
- Experience with preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with predictive maintenance analyses and productive maintenance.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards, Pareto charts, and Failure Tree analyses.
- Experience with Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) implementation.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma techniques.
Schedule
This position requires travel in the US and South America approximately 5% of the time.
