Maintenance Lead

Job Summary

Maintenance Lead is responsible for coordinating and controlling all technical work and preventative maintenance of the facilities. Responsibilities include minimizing equipment breakdowns, directing and overseeing maintenance employees on repairs, upkeep, design, cost control, and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment and facilities. Requires 10 years maintenance experience with 3-5 years in maintenance management, ideally in fabrication, welding, and assembly operations.

Essential Functions

• Manage maintenance staff for facility; supervise, organize, and control maintenance departments workflow including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and preventive maintenance.
• Set up and manage an organized work order system which prioritizes work.
• Cook up and manage preventative maintenance program for the whole facility.
• Make recommendations on how to improve equipment and processes.
• Manage continuous improvement to equipment and analysis of improvement projects.
• Develop maintenance employees' skills and conduct employee evaluations.
• Purchase spare parts, equipment, tools, fixtures while working to lower overall costs.
• Manage external contractors as needed.
• Willing to get hands dirty to achieve goals and commitments.
• Perform other duties and cross-train as required or assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of HS Diploma with 10 years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environment with 3-5 years supervisory experience and preventative maintenance program experience.
• AA Degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school in Industrial Technology or related maintenance field a plus.
• Knowledge of welding equipment, punch presses, brakes, shears, fabrication equipment, paint equipment.
• Knowledge of TPM, 5S, and lean production methods.
• Ability to operate forklift and material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of company procedures for storage, handling, and shipment of hazardous waste to comply with government regulations.
• Basic welding skills.
• Clean driving record.
• General working knowledge of all aspects of industrial maintenance. Good mechanical and construction aptitude.

Physical Demands

• Physical fitness to perform all functions of designated work areas. Includes small and large tool use, full arm and leg range of motion, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, work in awkward positions, climb and work in high places, work on concrete surfaces all day, talk and hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 35#, frequently lift and/or move up to 70#.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
