About the role
Responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure reliable operation of plant equipment and facilities. Oversees preventative maintenance, repairs, staff supervision, and continuous improvement efforts within the processing plant.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair processing equipment and facility systems
- Lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Train and schedule maintenance staff
- Support development of team members
- Work with and within systems (CMMS) and work management systems
- Order parts and manage inventory needs
- Assist team in reviewing metrics and participating in process improvement
- Follow food safety standards, HACCP-GMP-SQF
- Participate in meetings and on-call rotation
Qualifications
- 4+ years of maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Committed to personal and team growth through collaboration and training
- Passionate about enhancing individual and team performance through collaborative learning and development
- Basic computer and Email skills
- Food industry and HVAC experience are beneficial
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Knowledge, Skills and abilities
- Strong mechanical/electrical/engineering aptitude
- HVAC-R helpful
- Good troubleshooting/problem solving skills
- Must be able to prioritize and work productively in a multi-tasking environment
- Candidates that are detailed-oriented and accurate are preferred
- Ability to lead a team/strong supervisory and people skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to learn several associated jobs
- Project management
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred
Physical requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working around production equipment, sanitation chemicals, and varying temperatures
Work environment
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
