Maintenance Lead
Brief Description
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading and supporting the daily activities of the Maintenance Department in a manufacturing environment. This position oversees preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair activities, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency. The Maintenance Lead provides technical guidance, assigns daily work priorities, supports team development, and ensures compliance with all safety and company standards.
About Crestview Aerospace
Crestview Aerospace is a manufacturing organization working closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs, such as Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumnan, and several others to deliver complex design-to-build and build-to print assemblies. Crestview Aerospace provides these assemblies in support of in-service platforms, such as: H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems such as Harpoon and SLAM-ER. Crestview Aerospace is comprised of two (2) manufacturing sites, with operations in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, FL, and employs approximately 300 professionals.
Principal Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Lead and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team to support production schedules and operational goals.
- Assign and prioritize maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and hands-on assistance to maintenance technicians.
- Train, mentor, and support maintenance personnel in troubleshooting techniques, safety practices, and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Aid management with employee development, performance feedback, and departmental improvement initiatives.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive safety culture throughout the department.
- Oversee and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and production equipment to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and diagnostics on equipment to identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, calibration, and adjustment of machinery and equipment.
- Monitor preventative maintenance schedules and ensure completion of assigned PM activities.
Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Prior leadership or lead experience within a maintenance department preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices.
- Advanced technical knowledge in: Mechanical systems, Electrical systems (-15VDC to 480VAC), PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary company information.
- Certifications in electrical, mechanical, PLC, or industrial maintenance disciplines are preferred.
- Primarily works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
- Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.
- May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment.
- Exposure to noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current.
- Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: bending, reaching, close visual acuity, communication, maneuvering up to 20 pounds, substantial movements of wrists, hands, and fingers.
Work Environment
Primarily works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production equipment. Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials. May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.
Certifications
Certifications in electrical, mechanical, PLC, or industrial maintenance disciplines are preferred.
