About the role

The Journeyman Industrial Maintenance Group Leader is responsible for leading one other Maintenance Technician while maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise with the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong leadership, communication, time management, delegation, and initiative.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Maintain and repair presses, furnaces, conveyors, robotics, and automated production equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman certification or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (PLC experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation.
  • Ability to work any shift, including overtime as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in industrial conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
