About the role
The Journeyman Industrial Maintenance Group Leader is responsible for leading one other Maintenance Technician while maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise with the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong leadership, communication, time management, delegation, and initiative.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Maintain and repair presses, furnaces, conveyors, robotics, and automated production equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
- Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Journeyman certification or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (PLC experience preferred).
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation.
- Ability to work any shift, including overtime as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in industrial conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
