About the role
The Maintenance Instructor supports FORSCOM Logistics Training Cluster at Fort Story, VA. The role involves classroom instruction, practical exercises, and hands-on assessments.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction.
- Complete performance assessments.
- Complete class reporting and other administration duties.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on government equipment.
- Read, interpret, and troubleshoot using electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
- Operate military tactical vehicles in support of training and maintenance operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong presentation skills with large and small crowds.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering engaging, standards-aligned classroom instruction to learners, using differentiated strategies, formative assessment, and effective classroom management to drive measurable student growth.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience training the repair, maintenance, and servicing of water production and distribution systems as well as performing actual maintenance work on such systems and the other equipment in the program’s GFE inventory.
- Valid driver’s license (proof of which will be required after hire).
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation including fingerprinting.
- Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED, Strong presentation skills, Organizational skills, Relevant experience, Valid driver’s license, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excellent communication skills, Professional proficiency in English, Ability to pass federal background investigation, Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with generator troubleshooting, Army water production and distribution systems, Water purification experience, GCSS-Army reporting and documentation procedures.
