Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience & training in skill areas of grounds maintenance, mowing, snow removal, repairing, painting and fencing/sports park maintenance
- Knowledge of standard practices, tools and terminology while caring for grounds, trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, hazardous materials, and proper ways necessary to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to maintain, drive and operate medium truck, mowers, lawn, farm and turf equipment
- Valid Kansas driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to follow instructions, get along with others and work effectively without constant supervision
- Good physical condition and ability to lift 100 pounds
- Ability to perform work independently & dependably according to prescribed standards & technical procedures
- Ability to work in varied weather & temperature conditions & to work from heights
Physical/Emotional Requirements
- This position is classified as heavy work (level 4)
- Exerting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly
Performance Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance work with varied levels of skill in order to effectively maintain the Sport’s Park buildings, grounds, and equipment in a timely manner
- Assigned to district high school for 8 weeks over winter months
- Able to work occasional evening & weekend events held at the Sports Park as required
- Performs related duties as assigned
