Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Responsibilities Perform service maintenance, diagnosis, and light repairs on fleet and non-fleet cars, trailers, golf carts, and mowers, custodian and other heavy equipment in a safe, efficient, quality minded, and customer focused manner. Perform cleaning of scheduled college travel cars. Position is also responsible for providing an effective, timely, and economical system of moving campus mail between the various offices and buildings. Duties include delivering and picking up mail to/from the post office, maintaining paper supply inventory, and delivery of materials and supplies. Position may also assist others in the department during slow times of direct duties or high-volume times for the department. Qualifications A high school education or GED. Six months or more of janitorial similar or related experience. Must process and maintain a DL. Position can be physically demanding. Individual may be in constant moving such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Essential Functions Perform cleaning and prepares for vehicle travel departure schedules.Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to vehicles such as oil changes, tires air pressure checks, tires replacements, check and refill fluids, test drives, brake checks, lights checks and repairs.Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to golf carts, mowers, vacuums, buffers, and other light equipment as needed.Perform general maintenance duties will include moving furniture, boxes, etc., setting up for and/ or working special events, building checks over holidays when buildings are unoccupied, and on call duty. Will perform routine preventative maintenance (greasing equipment, oiling motors, changing belts, changing air filters, changing light bulbs, etc.).Manage, track, and maintain fleet and non-fleet usage and maintenance hours logs.Delivers campus mail/supplies within one business day.Inspects and exercises normal protective/maintenance care of equipment and materials.Maintains a good relationship and communication with college employees, students, and outside contacts.Maintains confidentiality of incoming and outgoing mail; possesses honesty and integrity; loyal to coworkers and college.Punctual, absences and tardiness reported in timely manner.Works effectively and assists others in the department.Attends meetings as required.
