About the role
Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area. We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance I to join our team, specifically focused on working with seniors. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance the value of the apartment community, in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
A typical day in the life of a Maintenance I working with seniors involves overseeing both resident apartments and property maintenance needs. Every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact on both residents and staff, creating a safe, welcoming environment for seniors to call home.
Responsibilities
The Maintenance I will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the value of the apartment community. This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance is mandatory
- A passion for working with seniors and creating a positive, supportive environment
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable using computers and property management software
- Reliable, adaptable, and ready to handle occasional on-call responsibilities
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be required to complete drug and background testing as part of the hiring process. The drug test does not screen for marijuana.
Schedule
This position typically works Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities for emergencies. While most workdays will be during regular business hours, there may be times when you'll need to respond to urgent situations outside of these hours to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. Flexibility and responsiveness are key to this role.
