Maintenance
Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance and Facilities, the Maintenance HVAC Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and/or minor repairs to school department buildings and grounds and to do related tasks as required.
- Inspects electrical, plumbing, heating and other equipment and makes minor to major repairs for their maintenance.
- Operates all machinery and equipment.
- Covers and inspects, repairs and maintains the athletic fields, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in all school locations.
- Inspects and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems in all school locations.
- Maintains all department property and equipment in good working order.
- Reports and responds to emergency calls for maintenance assistance e.g. security alarms, fire alarms, heat fails, flooding, emergency disasters or snow removal.
- Performs snow removal operations at required times including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Moves and/or arranges other office equipment as needed.
- Performs maintenance and other related tasks as required.
- Conform to District policies regarding attendance and absences.
Physical Requirements

- Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions.
Preferred Skills/License
- MA. Oil burner and EPA CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSE
Skills & Abilities
- Necessary To Performance Of Essential Duties
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Two years of experience in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities that would include the ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, mechanical malfunctions or equipment failure.
- Considerable knowledge in maintenance supplies, equipment, materials and methods used in maintenance work.
- Ability to make repairs to buildings and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, keep routine records and make reports.
- Ability to perform various clean up and maintenance tasks as required.
- Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance in using equipment to complete assigned tasks.
