Maintenance & Housekeeping Supervisor
About the role
The Maintenance & Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in upholding our facility standards, ensuring the club operates efficiently, safely, and beautifully year-round.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities Maintenance Coordination & Oversight: Coordinate and oversee routine facility maintenance and repairs by working with established third-party vendors, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and specialized trades. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for vendor access, work scheduling, and follow-up. Perform light, non-specialized repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as needed to support daily operations. Escalate complex or technical issues to the General Manager and appropriate vendors.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Communicate and negotiate with multiple vendors to ensure timely service, competitive pricing, and high-quality work. Track maintenance-related expenses, obtain vendor quotes, and provide budget input and recommendations to the General Manager to support cost-effective decision-making.
- Leadership & Supervision: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of entry-level and mid-level maintenance staff. Create and manage daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance schedules that align with the operational needs of the club.
- Task Planning & Problem Solving: Use strong organizational and problem-solving skills to plan ahead for facility needs, anticipate potential issues, and implement systems to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Groundskeeping: Oversee care and upkeep of outdoor grounds including landscaping, parking lot upkeep, snow removal, and seasonal exterior projects.
- Emergency Response: Serve as on-call responder for facility alarms and emergencies (nights, weekends, holidays as required).
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate logs, schedules, and reports using basic computer tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email communication.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial building maintenance or fitness club operations is preferred
- Experience supervising and developing staff
- Excellent communication skills, including bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs+ and performing physical labor
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Able to pass a background check
- Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and snow/inclement weather days
- Experience tracking departmental expenses and working within established budgets
- Outdoor grounds maintenance experience
- Proficient in basic computer skills (email, Excel, Word, Google Drive)
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary of approximately $50,000/year, commensurate with experience

Schedule
This role may require occasional work outside of regular business hours to respond to facility needs, emergencies, or weather-related events. The club fully honors all hours worked outside of regular schedules through flexible scheduling and compensatory time off. Comp time is provided at a 1:1 rate and is expected to be used within a reasonable timeframe, with scheduling coordinated in advance with the General Manager whenever possible.
