Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pressure washers.
• Maintain and clean parts washers and recovery systems.
• Perform total preventative maintenance on wash machines and heat treat equipment.
• Complete repair orders and maintain parts and supply usage records in a timely manner.
• Perform daily inspections of washers, conveyor systems, heat treat machines, and other assigned equipment.
• Follow all training and safety requirements while working with chemicals.
• Maintain logs of work performed and test results.
• Conduct required weekly, monthly, and annual facility audits and preventative maintenance activities, completing required documents per Magna requirements.
• Document preventative maintenance activities and maintenance items completed.
• Maintain 5S standards around all washer lines, conveyors, and maintenance areas.
• Communicate with team members (Supervisor, Leader, Quality, Co-workers) on any machine issues, understanding the cause and informing the appropriate team (Maintenance, Quality).
• Participate in building operations relative to Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures and audits.
• Train new employees on machine operation as needed.
• Assist other teams with setting up displays, banners, etc.
• Perform housekeeping and cleaning activities for building interior, exterior, and equipment.
• Maintain common areas such as restrooms, locker rooms, and cafeteria.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and parking lots.
• Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work for interior and exterior areas.
• Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices, space furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, and file cabinets.
• Clean CNC coolant tanks.
• Authorized to stop processes that do not meet quality and/or safety requirements and notify Supervisor/Quality immediately.
• Perform inventory of oils, coolers, and filters for washers.
• Oversee bulk waste transfer and follow required processes.
• Perform minor maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, sockets, fuses, appliances, and cords.
• Maintain roofing, drainage, plumbing, leaks, faucets, unclog drains, lay new lines, and similar tasks.
• Remove snow and address walkway treatments during inclement weather.
• Perform trash pickup for buildings and grounds.
• Take initiative to maintain and improve overall safety proactively.
• Treat team members with dignity and respect in accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter and Common Values.
• Actively participate in MAFACT Teams and activities, including spill team duties and annual training.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and submit cost-saving suggestions.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including IATF16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and the Employee Handbook.
• Follow MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required PPE and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately to Manager/Supervisor/Leader.
• Comply with designated ISO/14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management.

Requirements

• Experience in an automotive stamping manufacturing environment with mechanical knowledge.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Working knowledge of production parts washer equipment preferred.
• Ability to work various shifts and overtime as required.
• Knowledge of spray painting, rolling paint, and working with industrial paints.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and focus on cost-effective solutions.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Results-oriented team player with a high energy level.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures pertaining to the job preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain man-lift and hi-lo permit.
• Must be able to obtain Confined Space certification.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Skills

• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English and correspondence such as safety rules and operating instructions. Ability to document forms as required by the position. Able to communicate effectively in English (both written and oral).
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of basic computer skills.
