About the role
The Maintenance Generalist (levels MG01–MG08) is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble equipment
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Operate and maintain mobile equipment, pneumatic, and circuit components
- Perform welding on ferrous materials using oxy-fuel welding equipment, oxygen cutting, and plasma cutting
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment
- Perform physical tasks including climbing, standing, bending, sitting, and carrying/pushing/pulling up to 70 lbs multiple times weekly
- Work in varying environmental conditions (hot and cold)
- Work overtime and weekends as required
- Follow instructions and communicate effectively
- Work at heights safely
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification
Qualifications
- MG01–MG03: Up to six months of work experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance or equivalent training. Agricultural milling maintenance experience preferred.
- MG04–MG05: Minimum of six months of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance. Agricultural milling maintenance preferred.
- MG06–MG07: Minimum of six months of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience. Agricultural milling maintenance preferred. One year of electrical job-related experience noted on the application or resume.
- MG08: Minimum of one year of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance. One year of experience in electrical including PLC and motor control diagnostics with schematic identification must be listed on the application or resume.
