Maintenance generalist Louisa County C shift(August)
About the Role
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves working in all departments of a pork processing facility, performing preventative maintenance and repairing equipment such as conveyor lines, trolley systems, rendering machinery, and hydraulic systems. Additional duties may include welding, basic electrical work, and working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Work environments include cold, damp, or hot and humid conditions. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching in all areas. The role may also require working in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting up to 60+ pounds.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and company assets.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, trolley systems, rendering machinery, hydraulic systems).
- Conduct welding, basic electrical work, and work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Read and understand manuals, execute and document work on scheduling sheets.
- Complete computer-based training modules and understand training manuals.
- Communicate effectively with team members at all levels, from hourly workers to upper management, as well as government officials.
- Work in various departments, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, working in confined spaces, and working at heights.
- Progress through training levels up to level 7.
Requirements
- Must be available to work 3rd shift.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 year of on-the-job training or equivalent experience.
- Must have 1 year of experience and/or education in at least two of the following areas:
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting
- Hydraulic troubleshooting
- PLC troubleshooting and navigation
- Welding/Fabrication
- AC/DC Control Wiring
- Motor Control
- 3 Phase Wiring
- Plumbing
- Conveyor Maintenance
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatic systems
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60+ pounds.
- Must be willing to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Must successfully complete background checks if required for the role.
Schedule
This is a 3rd shift position. Candidates must be available to work any department, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
