Maintenance generalist Louisa County 2nd and 3rd shift
About the Role
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves working in all departments of a pork processing facility, performing preventative maintenance and repairing equipment such as conveyor lines, trolley systems, rendering machinery, and hydraulic systems. Additional duties may include welding, basic electrical work, and working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Work environments include cold, damp, or hot and humid conditions. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching in all areas. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and company assets.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, including conveyor lines, trolley systems, rendering machinery, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct welding, basic electrical work, and work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Read and understand manuals, execute and document work completed on scheduling sheets.
- Complete computer-based training modules and understand training manuals.
- Work in confined spaces, at heights, and use ladders, lifts, and scaffolds as required.
- Lift up to 60+ pounds as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with team members at all levels, from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be available to work 3rd shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 year of on-the-job training.
- Must have 1 year of experience and/or education in at least two of the following areas:
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting
- Hydraulic troubleshooting
- PLC troubleshooting and navigation
- Welding/Fabrication
- AC/DC Control Wiring
- Motor Control
- 3 Phase Wiring
- Plumbing
- Conveyor Maintenance
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatic systems
- Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing.
- Must be willing and able to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting up to 60+ pounds, working in confined spaces, and at heights.
- Candidates must stay on track with training until reaching level 7.
Location accepts rehires after a 180-day waiting period from the last termination date, with a maximum of 3 employments.
