Maintenance Generalist (1st Shift) Pet Food/MSC

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Keep machinery running to maintain continuous production.
• Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery.
• Learn Tyson SAP software to create work orders and complete daily documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team members, producers, USDA personnel, and drivers.
• Perform work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, and other tasks using math skills.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. periodically throughout the shift.
• Work on your feet for up to 12 hours per shift.
• Complete all required training for the job.
• Work long hours, climb stairs and ladders, and tow a water hose.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in work history or graduation/student status from an industrial maintenance training program (combination of employers acceptable).
• Experience or certification in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, plumbing, and welding.
• Knowledge of PLC operation is a plus.
• Strong electronic skill set.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
• Frequently required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds (assistance provided if task exceeds ability).
