About the role

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Work in temperatures that vary with outside ambient conditions and humidity. The position's physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting up to 70 lbs may be required depending on the department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
  • Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs without supervision.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment without supervision.
  • Start all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
  • Assist other mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6 months of industrial maintenance experience listed on the application or currently enrolled in an industrial maintenance program, or one year of classroom training from a technical college (food industry preferred).
  • Maintenance experience considered from roles such as mechanic, fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance.
  • 180 days (6 months) waiting period for former Tyson Foods team members.
  • Maximum of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.
  • Applications considered from Washington, Benton, and Madison counties.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
