Maintenance & Facilities Engineering Intern

About the role

The selected individual will support the maintenance and facilities department through a variety of technical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a database for the maintenance program.
• Assist in creating and updating work instructions.
• Participate in plant mapping and equipment evaluations.
• Schedule and track preventative maintenance activities.
• Conduct equipment research, including finding serial numbers.
• Perform item research as needed.
• Track work orders and provide updates on progress.
• Provide support to the maintenance and facilities staff.
• Assist in mapping and layout planning.
• Other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and facilities department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Enrollment in a related degree program at an accredited college or university preferred.
• Passionate about aerospace, engineering, or facilities management; specific interest in maintenance and facilities management is a plus.
• Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD; proficiency in Excel is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently or with a team, learn new tasks, handle multiple tasks, solve problems, meet deadlines, and show strong self-motivation and initiative.
• Good organizational skills for tracking work orders and maintenance schedules; attention to detail for tasks such as finding equipment serial numbers.
• Strong communication skills to interact with maintenance and facilities staff.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, temporary resident, refugee, or asylee.

Pay

$21 – $24 per hour.
