Maintenance- Engineer II

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel property
  • Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
  • Operate, inspect, and repair building systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Maintain and troubleshoot commercial kitchen equipment and related systems
  • Perform general repairs, construction, and maintenance projects as needed
  • Understand and efficiently maintain advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems
  • Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement
  • Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, repairs completed, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Follow all Marriott brand standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with projects and other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous hotel engineering or commercial maintenance experience required
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, and general building construction required
  • Vocational training, associate degree, certification, and/or apprenticeship in one or more technical areas preferred
  • State certification or licensing where required
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • High work ethic, self-initiative, and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various areas of the hotel
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed
  • Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment
