Maintenance Engineer - General Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The primary responsibility of a Maintenance Engineer/General Maintenance Technician is to ensure the upkeep and repair of all district facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment. This includes but is not limited to:

• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
• Maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and electrical components.
• Assisting in the planning and execution of facility improvement projects.
• Responding to emergency maintenance calls and coordinating with other departments as needed.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.

Qualifications

Candidates must also meet the following qualifications:

• Proficiency in using common tools and equipment used in maintenance work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

Desired skills include:

• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.

Pay

The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the district.
