Maintained Duties
- Maintain a rolling stock and make timely requisitions
- Hire, train, and schedule firemen and engineers
- Ensure guests have an excellent ride experience
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections of railroad rolling stock, tracks, and related equipment
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions based on observation and past experiences
- Conduct safety trainings and meetings
- Keep accurate records of employee issues and perform supervisory duties
- Monitor operations to ensure consistent and safe work
- Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and team members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, schedules, goals, and objectives
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Specialized knowledge of construction, maintenance, repair, and operations techniques related to historic steam locomotives
- Ancient Boiler License preferred
- Steam Locomotive Maintenance/Operation experience preferred
- Limited Leadership experience supervising staff
- Proficiency in basic computer programs such as Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word
- Ability to assist in keeping the Engine House within budget
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
