Maintenance Electrician- Night Shift

About the role

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for safely performing a wide range of maintenance and electrical duties to emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure. This role requires responding to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of an unplanned production line breakdown.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure.
• Respond to work instructions from the Maintenance Group Leader, respond to emergency or breakdown calls.
• Diagnose problems, dismantle and replace defective or worn parts, test all repairs after replacement before turning over to the machine operator.
• Perform assigned preventive maintenance, cut weld and fabricate as needed on projects.
• Perform electrical work with proper PPE in accordance with rules and regulations set forth by OSHA and NFPA 70E (National Electrical Code).
• Utilize manpower and equipment to complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Cleanup of Maintenance and work areas where repairs are performed.
• Ensure a safe work environment by utilizing Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Inform the Maintenance Assistant or Maintenance Group Leader when supplies have been removed from stock and require replenishment. Provide ordering information for replenishment of stock.
• Communicate with internal personnel from Production and Quality Control in order to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of one (1) year’s of experience as an Industrial Mechanic and/or Electrician.
• Basic knowledge of the PC’s operating systems.
• Ability to pass welding and cutting safety tests, arc flash tests, and able to start up line from cold start.
• Knowledge of all locations of E-Stops and crane disconnects.

Skills

• Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work instruction's that are furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Physical demands include regular talking and hearing, frequent walking, occasional bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, balancing, lifting up to 75 pounds, and specific vision abilities including close-up and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
