About the role
This person will perform electrical and mechanical repairs on production and facility related equipment at the Springfield, MN facility. When needed, this person will be tasked to design and implement new or upgraded equipment controls. This person will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on equipment and facilities.
- Promote safe work practices by following company safety policies.
- Aid in building controls for new equipment, as well as adding or upgrading controls on existing equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area and promote company 5S policies.
- Identify root causes of maintenance downtime and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
- Order repair parts for maintenance repairs to equipment and facilities.
- Identify critical parts and make recommendations on additional spare parts inventory.
Qualifications

- Education and Experience:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- The ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas:
- Must have 5+ years experience as an industrial maintenance electrician with advanced machine controls and design experience as well as power distribution systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Advanced training & knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC platform, as well as human machine interfaces (HMI).
- Must have a working knowledge of National Electric Code.

- Physical Demands, Mental Requirements, and Work Environment:
- The position is subject to extended periods of sitting depending on the nature of the issues at hand. Along with this is the occasional lifting of boxes and bending or crouching.

Job Prerequisites
- Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.

- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as effectively communicating with management and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them.

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with a large variety of individuals, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management and outside contractors.
