Maintenance Electrician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems ranging from millivolts (mV) control circuits to 480V power systems, including both main power and control power.
• Collaborate with Maintenance & Production teams to identify failure points & to perform root cause analysis.
• Avoid non-compliance with all applicable safety standards & electrical code.
• Use 2-way radios.
• Wear task-specific PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Comply with all safe work practices and procedures.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to read electrical schematics.
• Understand and demonstrate relay logic.
• Previous electrical experience – preferably in an industrial setting.
• Able to drive a forklift or willing to undertake forklift training.
• Able to work outside in all weather.
• Able to lift up to 75-100 pounds.
• Able to read and write.
• Able to use basic mathematics.
• Able to stand/walk on concrete/stairs for duration of shift.
• Able to pass mechanical aptitude test.
• Able to use ladders.
• Able to use lift trucks (i.e. – Snorkel Lift / bucket lift).
• Able to use various hand tools and power tools.
• Able to work with a group or unsupervised.
